Come out and support Penny and the rest of the HS students and enjoy some great jazz music in an absolutely beautiful auditorium. The HS group is under the direction of James Ketch, the Director of Jazz Studies at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill!

Wind Band Sectionals

Professional clinicians have been hired to work with each section (see schedule below) respectively over the course of seven weeks in an attempt to prepare the students on specifics regarding their Festival Assessment preparations for March 2nd. These rehearsals are factored in as part of the student's performance/rehearsal grade, and are thus required. It is the student's responsibility to work out schedule conflicts and arrangements with sports coaches and other teachers. Parents need to understand that if a student misses a rehearsal due to a doctor/dentist appointment, they will receive an "Excused Absence" mark, as well as no credit for the rehearsal unless the appointment is due to an emergency. Please contact Mr. Davenport if you have any questions.

Flutes - Wednesdays (2:30-3:30)
Oboe - Thursdays (2:30-3:30)
Clarinets - Thursdays (2:30-3:30)
Bassoons - Wednesdays (2:30-3:30)
Alto Saxophones - Tuesdays (2:20-3:20).....yes, 2:20-3:20
Trumpets - Tuesdays (2:30-3:30)
French Horns - Wednesdays (2:30-3:30)
Low Brass - Wednesdays (2:30-3:30)
(Bass Clarinets, Tenor Saxes, Bari Sax, T-Bone, Euphonium, Tuba)

Percussionists (Drummers) are excluded from this sectional requirement due to the structure of their class. Each day functions as a percussion sectional.

WHAT: A Great-Tasting Fundraising Event!

WHEN: October 1, 2011 - June 30, 2012

WHERE: Any Glory Days Grill in Northern Virginia

WHY: When you dine at a Glory Days Grill, the restaurant will contribute 10% of your total food purchases to the Jaguar Marching Band. Bring your neighbors, friends, and relatives, because the 10% applies to the total food bill.  Simply ask your server for a copy of your guest check (not credit card receipt) and drop it in the collection can in the Band room.

FCHS Band and Orchestra Spring Festival Trip to
WILLIAMSBURG, VA (April 12-14, 2012)

The Signed Commitment Form and Non-Refundable Deposit of $145 WERE DUE on Friday, December 9th.

The next payment of $175 is due on:
Friday, February 10th.

Information regarding the specific itinerary will be posted here as specific times and places are locked down. If you have any questions about details on what is going to be an INCREDIBLE trip and experience for these students, please feel free to contact Mr. Davenport, he will be happy to discuss it with you in great detail.
