Congratulations to the FCHS Music Program for receiving the "Blue Ribbon Award for Superior Performance" from the Virginia Music Educator's Association (VMEA).  Schools receive this when the top ensemble in each area of the music program receive superior ratings at their respectice District Festivals.

This accomplishment, coupled with the Superior rating earned last October by the Marching Jaguars, has earned the Band recognition as a "Virginia Honor Band", the highest distinction that a band program can receive from the Virginia Band & Orchestra Director's Association (VBODA).

If you would like to purchase a CD recording and/or a DVD of the Festival performance, I have order forms available in the Band room. Soon, I will have those forms available here in .pdf format that you will be able to download yourself. If you can't wait for the delivery of your professionally recorded media, our very own Shelly Blincoe has a fantastic camcorder version available on YouTube! Click the links below and "relive the magic"!!!

Thanks to everyone (parents) for your support through this process. The preparation is definitely time-consuming and tedious, but it sure feels good when all of the hard work pays off. In this case, it paid back with interest! I'm so very proud of each and every member of this band for all of their incredible effort throughout this year. They have brought great respect to all that is Falls Church High School and they should feel incredibly proud. We have a lot of great music left to play this season, so stay tuned (and check your calendars) for when the rehearsals will be, and we hope to see you in the auditorium on May 5th for our "Senior Night" concert!
